Whether you're headed out for a day at the beach, playtime with the kids at the park, an energizing walk, to attend your favorite sporting event or to enjoy any of the many warm weather activities that are a large part of what makes summer so wonderful, be sure you have your summertime essentials with you. Sunscreen is one of the most important items to pack in your summer tote bag, but it is certainly not the only item you need to make your day in the sun safe and fun.

Skin cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer. The use of sunscreen is an excellent way to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. It is important to note that sunscreen is not just for summer months. It should be used for protection anytime you are outdoors on a sunny day. To avoid confusion regarding what type of sunscreen you and your family members need, you can visit RMSunscreen.com. There you will find a variety of SPF sunscreen as well as many other products that provide protection while you are enjoying time outdoors.

Insects are always an uninvited guest at any outdoor event. A little pre-planning can keep them from hampering your fun. Be sure to pack some insect repellant in your summer tote bag or backpack.

It's important to remember to keep hand sanitizer readily available throughout the year. You may be inclined to forget its value during the warmer seasons when colds are not as prevalent. Lip balm is another item that is just as essential in the summer as it is in the winter. Many of the products designed to protect your skin, hands and lips should be considered an essential part of your active lifestyle all year.

Purchasing refillable bottles of sunscreen is a budget-friendly way to protect yourself and your family. Travel size bottles are a great convenience. When you need a small gift item, travel size hand sanitizers, sunscreen and lip balm are wonderful, budget-friendly gift ideas.

With all of the protective products available, there's no reason to venture outdoors for a day of fun without the proper protection. You can reduce your risk of skin cancer, prevent premature aging, slow down the appearance of wrinkles and reduce the occurrence of brown spots with something as simple, easily accessible and affordable as sunscreen.

  1. I always carry these items in the summer. I tan very easy, but my husband burns so sunscreen is a must. Lip balm is great to keep the lips from getting wind burned or sun burned. Thanks for the great tips!!!
