  1. I love the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness, I have so many friends who have been affected! During this month, I reach out to them more than often, because I know how hard it must be for them. I contribute to the 3 day walk, run a 5K in my friends honors, and participate/contribute to a silent auction in which the proceeds go to the Susan Komen foundation. I spread the word as much as I can, I hope one day our grandchildren will live in a world where not 1 in 8 women are affected every day.

  3. Cathy Jarolin Actually one of my dearest friends lost her fight to breast cancer a couple of years ago..She fought it for 13 yrs but it got the best of her in the end..I also have a very sweet niece who is fighting type 4 metabolized breast cancer at the moment..she was diagniosed about 3 yrs ago..She has endured alot but she is still fighting. She is a fantastic mom and grandma..I am reminded about this terrible disease alot. so i try to wear pink alot & tell my friends to make sure they go to dr for their reg exams..I send notes and letters to my niece and think about my Dear Friend Grace all the time. We both share a Grandson he is 16 now and lives with me..She was such a good grandma and loved andrew with all her Heart..It devastated him when she died..:0( She was 10 yrs younger than
me..I don't really do anything different during Breast cancer month. I am very supportive of it all yr long...

  5. I work for a company that gives part of the profits of the sale of certain specific products to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, so I make sure to recommend those products to customers.

  6. I had a mammogram on my birthday about 2 1/2 years ago and was diagnosed with HER-2 breast cancer. I had a double mastectomy, heavy chemo and Herceptin treatments. I have to take medicine for 5 years to keep my estrogen very low. If I had not had my annual mammogram, I would not be around today. I urge everyone to have an annual mammogram. I have always had it around my birthday so I would not forget. It is a simple test that can save a life.

  7. I always say a prayer for my Aunt Terry who had breast cancer and I love to tell the story about how she couldn't afford reconstructive surgery so she would put a roll of pennies in her bra to balance her out.
