Powered by Mom Shares Her Top 5 Favourite in September Netflix Picks

Netflix #StreamTeam

Okay moms and dads this month my top 5 favourite picks on Netflix are NOT for the kiddos except the first one Hidden Figures. September is a rough month, after a fun summer with a not so strict routine it's hard to go back to school. I'm not talking about the kids here I'm talking about us parents. I enjoyed sleeping in a bit or staying up late and not having to worry about dragging my teen out of bed so she'd get ready for school. I consoled myself with a little Netflix time this month to get me through the return to routine feeling.

If you watch nothing else in the next month or so you must watch Hidden Figures! Ths movie is inspiring and also a history lesson no one should forget yet many did not know about.

Cast: Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe
This story follows a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program.

I am not going to tell you anymore because you just need to watch it!

For a bit of humour some of it corny, some if it you want to make sure the kids don't hear you watching it but I'm going to share anyways because it made me laugh and that's the movie Why Him. I loved Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad but make no mistake he's no Walter in this movie.

Why Him?
Cast: Zoey Deutch, James Franco, Bryan Cranston
A holiday gathering threatens to go off the rails when Ned Fleming realizes that his daughter’s Silicon Valley millionaire boyfriend is about to pop the question.

If you're a Walking Dead Fan but have missed a season or two you can rejoice as season 7 is now on Netflix!

This one I admit I haven't watched yet but it's on my list and I'm kind of saving it for those cold winter days I know are coming Nashville Season 5 got released on September 10th.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast

I love this movie and I had already seen it in theatres with my daughter but it's one we happily watched again, okay one I watched again and again.
Cast: Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans
Held captive in an enchanted castle where clocks and candlesticks come to life, a brave young woman clashes with a beastly but good-hearted prince.

Honourable Mention - Meaning I plan to watch when I'm in the right mood for it.

There you have it my top 5 favourites on Netflix for September there are so many more but I could go on and one. However I've got a few honourable mentions below.

This Is Us – Season 1

I heard so much about this series when it first came out so I was intrigued. I'm on episode 3 and I am hooked oh boy!
Cast: Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown
The hit series that follows siblings Kate, Kevin and Randall as their lives intertwine., from sharing the same birthday, to so much more than anyone would expect.

First They Killed My Father – Netflix Original Film - it's on my list to watch for when I'm in the right mood for it as the topic is a heavy one.
Cast: Sareum Srey Moch
An unflinching portrayal of the Khmer Rouge’s reign of terror and genocide, from the view of a five-year old survivor cut off from her family in 1975.

  1. We dont have Netflix but are seriously considering it. I think for some shows it is nice to see them one after another. I do watch This is Us and the week in between you kind of can lose the plot. Good list!
