The Power AirFryer XL is easy to use and versatile – Bake, Fry & More!

Hands down the Power AirFryer XL is my new favorite small kitchen appliance. In fact I like it better than my oven and stove most days. I can make my family’s favorite food chicken wings without all the fat and calories. It cooks healthier with less added fat and you can fry and cook almost anything with it. It’s also a breeze to clean.

AirFryer XL

Our 5.3 quart Power AirFryer XL has been used almost daily since we got it. I previously had another AirFryer but it was too small and not as well made. This one is the perfect size for us and it’s easy to use with so many options. It cooks up to 400 degrees and is dishwasher safe, well the removable parts such as the drawer and basket. I love to use it when it’s too hot to turn on the oven, it doesn’t exude nearly the heat an oven does but does as much as one!

If some of your favorite foods are items like chicken wings, fries, onion rings and all those other foods that make you feel guilty because of all the fat. Well you’ll love this Power AirFryer XL because you can make all of those with either no oil or just a wee bit. For example as I mentioned chicken wings are a favorite with my family. In particular we love these salt/pepper/rosemary ones that we first tried at a restaurant and I replicated at home.

The Power AirFryer XL comes with a divider which is handy for things like chicken strips and fries. I use it when I make those for my daughter.

It has Rapid Air Technology that fries the foods with a whirlwind of super-heated air for that great crispy-friend taste without all the added fat and calories. It’s virtually goof-proof. Simply add your food to the Easy Load basket, slide it into the air fryer unit, and with the touch of a finger select your cooking setting from one of the 7 preset programs. The Power Air Fryer’s digital touch panel display eliminates the guesswork and ensures whatever your cooking comes out perfectly delicious time after time.

This oil less fryer does all the thinking for you, and when the timer is done, the automatic shut-off stops the cooking cycle so you never overcook or burn your meal. You’ll love the versatility of this amazing kitchen wonder. The As Seen On TV Power Air Fryer Air Fries, Bakes, Sautés, Grills and Roasts. The amazing turbo-cyclonic super-heated air powered by 1500 watts reaches up to 400 degrees in a matter of seconds.

Let’s talk about the food

There are at least 24 wings in this bowl. Remember that as you’ll be surprised at the small amount of oil I used for this whole bowl. Only 1 tbsp!

chicken wings bowlI hate deep frying so I would bake them. They were good but not quite the same as the deep friend ones in the restaurant. The wings didn’t have that crispy outside, you know what I meant. They were tasty but not quite the same. With the Power AirFryer XL we get the crispy outside and still so moist on the inside and oh the the flavor. I just mixed those wings with the 1 tbsp of olive oil, added salt, pepper, rosemary and mixed it then it went into the basket.

I could fit more in the Power AirFryer XL below but I want you to see how much room it has in the fry basket.

No “deep frying required”

The Power AirFryer XL has different settings. You can select the mode like chicken, which we did here and it selects the temperature for you, then you select the time. You can also increase the temperature if you want. I put these on the chicken mode but raised the temperature to 380 degrees and cooked them for 19 minutes.

Remember I said that I only used 1 tbsp for the entire bowl not just the batch above? Look at how golden crispy these chicken wings look!

chicken wings

Seriously my family devours these wings as do I. Just so nice and crispy on the outside without any coating like flour, just the herbs, salt and pepper and the bit of olive oil. I can make about 18-20 at a time which we eat no problem. We often make two batches about 30 in total for the three of us.

chicken wings 2

Add some veggies on the side and we’ve got a full meal with just the chicken wings and these are as good if not better than the ones we had in a restaurant. Until the Power AirFryer XL I had only made chicken wings and chicken strips in an air fryer so it was time to try something new.

We also love steak so for the first time I cooked a steak in an air fryer. For the steak I followed the instructions from the Power AirFryer cookbook. I put the rub on the steak but I did not add any extra oil at all since there was fat on the steak.

AirFryer steak

I selected the steak mode and put on half the required time so we could flip them over. One thing to keep in mind just like when cooking on a pan if the steaks are different sizes and thickness you may have to take one out sooner than the other. The steaks seared nicely on each side and sealed the juices in. Here’s what it looked like before I cut into the steak.

AirFryer whole steak

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised when I cut into the steak and it was so juicy. I hate an overcooked steak, I’m a medium rare kind of gal and hubby is between medium and medium rare. My daughter is like her mom, medium-rare but we were all happy with this steak and how tender it was. Hubby gave it his stamp of approval and he’s picky when it comes to his steak.

Now depending on who you ask this steak is either medium or medium-rare but we were all happy.

Airfryer cut steak

To make this fabulous machine even more versatile you can buy accessories like a baking insert where you can bake pies and cakes, yes oh my! You can also get a pizza pan. I will be getting both as soon as I can, they are so popular that they’re sold out right now. In the meant time we’ll continue to use the air fryer quite regularly and trying out some new recipes too!

Make sure to stop by and visit them on their site and social media channels.

  3. I am really excited about the air fryer. Using little or no oil to cook, the speed that it cooks and the fact that you can virtually get the. same results as heating in an oven without heating up your whole kitchen – how cool is that. You can even cook two things at once with the divided basket. The cleanup is simple and can be put in a dishwasher. This is one item that everyone could use.

I think this would make cooking faster, healthier and more enjoyable since I'm not a fan of cooking in the first place!

I have heard a lot of people complain that when they tried to check the food during cooking that they couldn’t get the basket back in without letting it cool down first. Did you have any issues with that?

  49. This is a lot bigger than my brothers, and would make eating Keto/Low Carb MUCH easier. I love ‘fried’ foods (battered fish, for example), but some bother me because of the amount of grease/oil involved. I could see myself making fish battered with almond or coconut flour using this for crispy fish without all the added grease/oil.

Sounds like an excellent kitchen appliance!

  59. Great review. And thanks for the picture showing the steak after you cooked it, next to the knife. It gave a really good sense how big the steak was and then that gave a good sense of how big the basket was to fit 2 of them in there. I have an air fryer but it’s MUCH smaller & that was the biggest thing I was wondering about – how much the size difference was!

Perhaps french fries and sweet potato fries.

  118. I would really love to get one of these. I’ve seen them around, but never read a review about them before. After reading yours, I love the way it sounds. I’ve been trying to cook healthier for my family and I and using one of these seems like we can still have some favorite foods, but save the fats, grease and calories at the same time.

  134. One of the things that I would really like about this is ease of clean up. I hate cleaning up grease splatters all over the house.

Does it keep that fried grease smell down, too?

  135. Oh, you are killing mewith those food pictures! We do try to avoid too many fried foods here (for health reasons), but we all just love the taste – if not the calories- of fried foods. And that divider is really nice – what a nifty idea. And it’s good to know it can do more than just fry – those attachments, like for baking & pizza are on my list. I learned that this can just about everything except make ice cream!
