Let's Help Dolly Find a Home! Pet Adoption of the Day #AdoptDon'tShop

Nine year old Dolly is looking to be your companion. She wants to hang out with you, take walks with you, sleep near you, and simply just be with you She's a very easygoing gal! But Dolly has now been at the shelter since November.

Meet Dolly

If you’re not going to have a pet be indoors with you the majority of the time, give it lots of love, prepared to pay vet bills in an emergency and make a life time commitment then a pet is not for you. This is something we are passionate about and really want to get the message across to adopt not shop and that it’s a lifetime commitment of love!

Information from Dolly's Adoption Post

With about 60 dogs listed on Dolly's shelter's website alone looking for their home, not to mention the thousands in the surrounding area in need, Dolly's not so sure how long she's going to have to wait in line for someone to pick her out from the crowd. So let's give Dolly her time to shine -- PLEASE SHARE!!

A staff member wrote, "Dolly is currently residing at the  in Maryville, TN. She is a 27 pound terrier/beagle mix originally found as a stray. She is soooo sweet!!! She was then adopted and returned because she didn't know basic commands. UGH!

Dolly is pretty spunky for a senior girl. She is very friendly with people. She loves to sit on the couch with our volunteers, but also loves her long walks.

Dolly would like to be in a home where she isn't left alone all the time - she LOVES the attention of her people, and deserves to have some at this stage of her life. She would do best with older dogs that aren't going to pester her. She is fine with cats. And she is crate trained.

Dolly has been in our shelter since November 25th - way too long. She is heartworm negative and will be spayed and fully vetted. We can help with transport."

GO HERE to share his story and hopefully help him find a home or better yet please contact the Blount County Animal Center for more information on adopting Dolly.

  1. Dolly has such a sweet face. I wish I could adopt all the dogs that need adopting. My heart just breaks when I think of them not having their forever homes. My dog was adopted from the humane society and I wouldn't go any other route to get a dog - only adoption for me. I wish I lived closer so I could bring Dolly home to my senior dog. They would love to curl up together.
