Let’s Help Bumpy Find a Home! Pet Adoption of the Day #AdoptDon’tShop

(near) BOISE, ID: “Oh! Hello, there! I am Bumpy and I need a home!”

8 year old Bumpy weighs in at only around 18 pounds, but what she lacks in size she sure makes up for in personality. And Bumpy is clumped in with the dogs, but she wants to know… “Who you callin’ old??”

Meet Bumpy

If you’re not going to have a pet be indoors with you the majority of the time, give it lots of love, prepared to pay vet bills in an emergency and make a life time commitment then a pet is not for you. This is something we are passionate about and really want to get the message across to adopt not shop and that it’s a lifetime commitment of love!

Information from Bumpy’s Adoption Post

Ashlie, the shelter adoption counselor, wrote, “Sweet Bumpy is 8 years old, but she thinks age is just a number. Bumpy was transferred to us from a high-kill shelter where she was, sadly, out of time. She’s an absolute sweetheart but has had very little inquires. With so many puppies and younger dogs in our shelter, she’s often overlooked by the general public.

Bumpy is a senior female Jack Russell and she’s spayed, inoculated, micro-chipped and ready to go (she’s even had her teeth cleaned recently!). This mature lady is full of life and personality. Bump Bump adores playing ball and will gladly fetch as long as you let her. She still has some moves when it comes to playtime and she often makes the volunteers laugh as she’s chasing down her toys.

She is house trained and walks nicely on lead. Bumpy can be bossy with other dogs, so we are recommending she be an only dog (although she’s reported as fine in general situations around other dogs).

Bumpy is easy going, mellow and likes cuddle time. She would love to be someone’s walking buddy and little spoon. We know her forever family is out there and we hope the SSD community can help us find them.

GO HERE to share his story and hopefully help him find a home or better yet please contact the Meridian Valley Humane Society for more information on adopting Bumpy.

  1. What an adorable dog. We adopted an older dog from the shelter and it was such a great dog. So loving and I was so happy to provide a loving home for him.

  2. It often seems to be a problem. People usually want a puppy over an older dog. Sure they’re cute, but you have to house train, they chew thing up… I would choose an adult if I were looking for a pet.
