These Top Seattle seafood restaurants are in Seattle Southside!
Recently my family and I headed to Seattle Southside, a convenient destination right in Seattle’s backyard to celebrate my hubby’s birthday. One of the amazing experiences we had was discovering some of the best Seattle seafood restaurants.
We love our seafood and of course being west coast people let’s just say we expect nothing less than fresh seafood cooked in tantalizing dishes. Seattle Southside did not disappoint, especially when it came to two of the best Seattle seafood restaurants we’ve ever been to Anthony’s Homeport in Des Moines and Salty’s Waterfront Seafood Grill at Redondo Beach in Des Moines. My mouth is practically watering right now thinking of the delectable food we had at both restaurants.

Anthony’s Homeport Des Moines
Each restaurant had its own charm and specialties. You simply can’t go wrong going to either restaurant. In fact you’ll want to go to both because as I’ve mentioned the food is just amazing. We went to Anthony’s Homeport for my hubby’s birthday dinner as he was craving steak and lobster. We went in late January so it was dark when we were at the restaurant, sadly I could not get my own photos of the lovely scenery but Anthony’s was kind enough to share this photo.

While we haven’t been to this location before we have been to an Anthony’s in the Seattle area. We’re always impressed with their high level of service, quality and freshness of their seafood and the variety of gourmet dishes on the menu.
Due to the lovely soft lighting my photos can’t due the food justice. Despite the low lighting conditions you can still see how delicious the food is at Anthony’s. We started with one of my all time favourites coconut prawns. In fact it’s Anthony’s coconut prawns by which I compare all others, very few if any measure up to the quality and fantatstic taste of Anthony’s coconut prawns.
The food
While coconut is not my hubby’s favourite, even he can’t resist the coconut prawns from Anthonys. There’s nothing shrimpy about this dish, if you’re not careful you can start to feel full from just these coconut prawns but they are worth every delicious bite.
My hubby and I both had the lobster, except his was lobster and steak. I have to admit that in all my years of eating lobster tail at various restaurants all over the world, the lobster tails we had at Anthony’s were the largest ones we’ve ever had. To say we were in heaven would be an understatement. I might have had melting butter dripping down my chin but I didn’t care as I was enjoying this lobster oh so much.
Between the coconut prawns and our lobster meals we were happily stuffed. I wish I had the chance to try the halibut above but that just gives me something to try the next we are there. Our daughter is not as big of a seafood fan as we are but she loves steak and burgers so she had some yummy sliders. There are choices for kids, teens and picky eaters so bravo Anthony’s on that!
My daughter had hoped to have dessert but she was so full so she’ll be dreaming of their dessert menu for next time. From the service to the amazing food Anthony’s Homeport in Des Moines is one of the top Seattle Seafood restaurants. It’s a higher end atmosphere making it great for date night, special occasions or just when you want to treat yourself.
Salty’s Waterfront Seafood Grill at Redondo Beach, Des Moines
The View
The very next morning we were treated to brunch at Salty’s Waterfront Seafood Grill which is now also on our list of top Seattle seafood restaurants. Going there for thew view alone is worth it. Whether it’s a rainy day or the sun is shining bright you can’t help but enjoy the water view.
The Food
The food is another example of seafood delight. Their Sunday brunch buffet is extremely popular and now we know why, it’s amazing.
- crab legs
- prawns
- smoked salmon lochs
- Eggs Benedict
- omelettes to order
- roast beef
- desserts and more.
My daughter the picky eater was in heaven. There were so many dishes for her to select from, this is a rare occurence for this girl. She almost didn’t know where to start.
Chicken & Waffles
She pulled it together and went for some old favourites like waffles and bacon but as she’s heard about “chicken & waffles” she grabbed some chicken too. I also went with a bit of a southern theme to start and with my eggs Benedict added some biscuits & gravy to my plate.
The restaurant was full but the buffet food all looked fresh and we weren’t waiting in line for anything. I’m not sure how they managed it but oh so good.
Seafood
There was so much to delight in that you almost felt like you were the see food I’ll eat it mode but I restrained a bit and went next for my favourite crab legs. I wasn’t the only one, I saw people going to get plate after plate of these yummy crab legs. Very fresh and oh so good and they kept your melted butter warm at your table. Hubby alternated between the crab legs, prawns and roast beef. I did have a slice of the beef and it was very tender.
Oh the desserts
However, I admit my priority for this brunch was dessert. Since I was too full the night before for dessert I was determined to try some at Salty’s. When you’re looking at a chocolate fountain (yes my daughter indulged in that one) and this row of desserts how could you resist?
So resist we did not, I would get us all a few bite sized desserts to try between all three of us. Okay so the creme brulee is not bite sized but we all shared it 😉
Favourite Desserts
We each selected a favourite from all the ones we tried from the dessert buffet. Can you guess who liked what?
Mini Cupcakes – Red Velvet
Key Lime Pie Bite with Meringue
Chocolate cup with a cream filling
Everything was delicious at Salty’s and oh so fresh. The brunch is a fabulous deal with most of their Sunday brunches being $45 for adults, children 9-13 $29.99 Children 5-8 $14.99 & kids 4 & under are free. Remember endless crab legs, seafood, roast beef, well too much food to list. That’s an amazing prize. We were so full that we only needed a snack for dinner. We will definitely go to Salty’s the next time we’re in the area or I might have to plan a trip just to go to Salty’s.
Now you can see why Anthony’s Homeport in Des Moines and Salty’s Waterfront Seafood Grill in Seattle Southside are two of the best Seattle seafood restaurants!

I love seafood, I mean I really do. Here in the Midwest most ‘seafood places are a wash. You can get fish near the Mississippi, but it isn seafood. I would love to try some of these places you show. I would imagine the prices wouldnt be bad so close to the ocean or I would hope not. It all looks terrific.
All of the food looks so good, but the coconut prawns is my first choice. Great pictures!

Love a good seafood place 🙂
Thank you for sharing. I will be jotting down the names of the restaurants for the future. Seattle is one of our favorite cities to visit and my husband is a big seafood fan so this will be a great help to us!
When in Seattle obviously the place to go. I could eat crab legs all day long.
I enjoyed reading your reviews. It was very thoughtful and informative.
These two restaurants sound awesome! The views were wonderful. That brunch looked yummy!
It’s funny how they the take a small portion and fan it out on the plate and add garnish to make it look good. I say just give me the food. I’m going to eat it, not admire it.
Hey Lisa, not sure where you’re talking about as neither of these restaurants had small portions, so much food it was crazy 🙂
Wow either you take extra good pictures, or this food looks so amazing, good thing I had a good breakfast, I might be tempted to drive across the country right now! I’d like to try every single one of these yum!
This food looks so good. I love the views at these restaurants also. If I ever get to visit there I will check this out. Thank you so much for sharing
