In fact my family LOVED eating this super tender and juicy Maple Rosemary Herbed Grilled Chicken as a chicken burger. It was one big burger but oh so filling and delicious. The flavours of the maple syrup, rosemary, garlic and ginger (yep ginger too) blended together to create a tasty chicken breast. I could not get over how tender and juicy it was and I only marinated the chicken breasts for a couple of hours.
Above you can see in the marinade on the right with the fresh garlic, rosemary, ginger, maple syrup and more.
It’s spring time and I don’t know about the rest of the country but here on the west coast it has been warm and sunny. Dare I saw almost like summer weather? It’s made being at home so much more enjoyable as I sit outside and soak up some warmth and vitamin-c. So I’ve been hankering for grilled foods, burgers and well spring and summer like foods. If you can’t use the BBQ though that’s okay you can use an indoor grill for these delicious maple rosemary herb grilled chicken breasts.
One of the many reasons my family loved having this herb grilled chicken breast as a burger is that they could add their favourite toppings as we each have our favourites. For example my daughter is not a fan of having tomato or lettuce on her chicken burger but give her some bacon on it and she’s a happy camper. Hubby is the opposite he’ll have everything on his burger including the maple mayo and all the other toppings. That’s the beauty of a chicken burger we each do up the bun the way we want. I don’t think I’ve ever gone wrong with a marinade that had maple syrup in it or garlic for that matter. Seriously these chicken breasts were just so juicy, not a dry one in the bunch and the flavour was amazing. If you want to find more BBQ sauces and rubs though make sure to check out all the recipe ideas at Chicken Farmers of Canada’s recipe section. So many tasty ideas!
Take a look for yourself in the photo above does that not look tender and juicy? Is your mouth watering?

In the photo below you can see the maple mayo we made in the bottom right. It adds a lovely flavour to enhance the maple tones. Don’t worry it’s not a sweet burger as the soy sauce tones down the sweetness.I’m going to share again why we only buy chicken with the Raised by a Canadian Farmer logo like the one below. I know I say this a lot but it’s important to me and I like that Canadian chicken farmers are committed to sustainability through innovation, by preserving the health of the land, providing value to Canada’s economy, & making affordable food for Canadians.
Canadian chicken is a healthy choice is that it’s grain-fed, free of added hormones and steroids, and raised right here in Canada according to nationally-set, high food safety and animal care standards. Last but definitely not least is that there is a mandatory, robust, third- party-audited Animal Care Program that is administered across all Canadian chicken farms.

Maple Herb Grilled Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
- 3-4 large chicken breasts*
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup reduce sodium soy sauce **
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 ½ tbsp fresh chopped rosemary
- 1 tbsp lemon juice***
- 1 clove of garlic minced****
- 1 tsp of minced fresh ginger****
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix maple syrup, soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, rosemary and garlic; add salt and pepper, to taste.
- In a large Ziploc bag or container, mix the marinade sauce with the chicken breasts. Marinate for at least 45 minutes to overnight. Turn the bag or mix in the container occasionally.
- Preheat grill to medium high heat.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade bag or container and discard the marinade.
- Lightly brush chicken with some olive oil; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Place the chicken on the grill and sear on each side (about 30-45 seconds on each side).
- Continue grilling, turning occasionally, until chicken is completely cooked through about 10 minutes.
- Chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C)
- Serve immediately on your favourite buns, we used Kaiser buns or serve as is with vegetables etc.., Garnish with rosemary, if desired.
Notes
*The marinade is really enough for about 5-6 medium-large sized chicken breasts but if I'm short on time I like to put less chicken in with the marinade to let it well marinate more and get as much flavour as possible in less time. I generally only need to cook 4 chicken breasts max for our family of 3, giving us one for leftovers.
** You can use regular soy sauce but it will be saltier or you can use Tamari
*** Don't have fresh lemons, you can use the lemon juice that comes in those lemon shaped containers
**** If you don't have fresh garlic and/or ginger you can used powdered ones, just use smaller amounts to see if you like the taste the first tiem around.
Prep time includes a minimum 30 minutes to marinate the chicken. Again the longer you marinate the more flavour it will have.
Cooking time of chicken breasts will depend on the size of your chicken. Just make sure it has an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C)

I love chicken! I have made it a lot of different ways. My family loves it with BBQ sauce and chicken breasts with the skin on. I sprinkle the top with garlic salt & oregano and bake it to a crispy golden brown. Yummy! But now I just have to try this delicious recipe that I just pinned. I have never had it with rosemary or ginger or maple syrup! You had me at garlic though! I hope the maple syrup doesn’t make it sweet. I have to look for that Canadian Farmers Chicken though. We usually use Perdue.
