 Lugz Howitzer WR Men’s Boots

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to work with Lugz to review a pair of their women’s boots and tell you, my readers, all about it; this time around I was about to work on the opposite end of the Lugz spectrum and review a pair of their men’s boots for my husband.

Here’s my hubby wearing his Lugz Howitzer Men’s boots and of course our dog Luna had to be in the picture. She is always by his side and in fact, she goes to work with him from job site to job site 🙂

For those of my readers who’re new to Powered by Mom or those of you who need a little refresher on Lugz let me take a minute to fill you in.

Lugz first made a name for itself in October of 1993 with the launch of its first line of boots; at the time the line consisted of a mere two styles of boots, a quilted vest, and a single pair of jeans. Talk about a modest start. Soon after the launch of their line Lugz was approached with endorsements from key players in the hip hop industry and through those first ventures were able to carve a name for themselves over the years. Throughout the years Lugz has worked with names like Bryan “baby” Williams, Orange County Choppers, Lyoto Machida and UFC Light Heavyweight Phil Davis.

Now, on to my favorite part: for my review I was sent a pair of the Men’s Howitzer WR boots, my hubby has been wearing them for a few months now and like all of his Lugz shoes and his men’s boots he likes them. He says this pair is heavier, in a good way so he feels that his feet are protected from the weather. We haven’t had any snow here but he says the treads on them are great so he feels confident that he could walk on a short pile of snow if necessary in these boots.

My husband says he also likes the fact that they are short men’s boots so like in the picture above his pant leg covers the top and you can’t tell that they are boots, so when he’s making sales calls they look dressy enough, certainly better than steel-toed boots that he has to wear at most sites! He says that they are comfortable for all day wear with moderate amounts of walking, he hasn’t gone hiking in them so can’t speak to that. He is rough on his shoes but they are holding very well indeed!

The Howitzer WR Boot is the epitome of manly with its rugged, high-top design. Available in sizes 6.5-14, the Howitzer WR boasts a slip-resistant rubber sole, padded tongue and collar, water-resistant Permahide upper and Flexa-Stride Memory foam Sockliner. Whether you’ve got a day out running errands or a refreshing hike circled on your calendar the Howitzer WR was designed with your comfort in mind and will keep you comfortable no matter where your day takes you.

As always Lugz does not disappoint! Thanks Lugz!

  4. I love lugz. The fact that these come in sizes lg enough for my husband is great (13). A memory foam sock liner is great, as well as a padded tongue. My husband has a long scar on his foot from when he was a child and most boots tend to aggravate it. He also can’t wear steel toe, so the fact that these are not is also great. Seems like these would be the perfect boot for him.

  5. It’s difficult to find a pair of men’s boots that are stylish enough to go business casual yet water resistant and rugged. The Howitzer WR looks like the perfect boots to meet those needs.

  7. These boots have been around since the year both of my parents wre born (& even they’re not “around” anymore)!
That tells me that they are a good quality product! My husband doesn’t care about styling, but this would be a way of doing it without him even knowing it!! They look & sound comfortable & I would love that for my hubby too 🙂

  8. These boots would be perfect for my son. The fact that the soles are slip-resistent makes them safe and the inside liner makes them comfirtable. Since they are Lugz, they are well-made, quality boots.

  9. I like that they are so well made. That they have a memory foam insole to cushion his feet and that they have a good tread on them is keep him from slipping and they are waterproof so when he has to be outside.

  10. We live in Massachusetts so I love the great tread and that they are waterproof. Also they look good and my husband can be comfortable and still have boots that can be worn in winter. Plus it gives me a kick to think that he would be wearing boots that are popular with the hip hop crowd. He’s more the classic country type.

  12. LUGZ are great! I think (this time of year) the best part is the sturdy, slip-proof tread they have. We’ve had sleet, snow, and freezing rain here in NY, and it gets VERY slippery. A good tread is a must – if you don’t have it, it’s like driving on bald tires in the snow!

  13. I just love the Lugz Shoes, whether it be for me or for my hubby! These boots look terrific on your hubby and he said the key words “these boots feel heavy in a good way so I know that they will protect my feet from the snow and cold” He also mentioned that the tread is so good that he would have no problem walking in snow with them on! I also learned that these boots are made of a slip resistant rubber sole, padded tongue and collar, water resistant Permahide upper and Flexa-Stride Memory foam Sockliner. This Boot would do perfectly for what my husband needs! Thanks for the Fantastic Review, the pictures and the information! I honestly do appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele 🙂
