Libre Tea Infuser Glass Review

Libre Tea is all about being able to have a peaceful tea moment no matter where you are. With a strong poly exterior protecting the glass interior, whatever beverage you're enjoying is insulated and clean. I enjoyed my loose leaf tea and smoothies from my Libre Tea Infuser Glass.

Made for Tea

I love tea. Currently, two full shelves in one full section of the cabinet are stuffed full of tea. That does not include the 30+ loose leaf teas I sell in my "free time." So, one could say I love tea. The problem with loose leaf tea is that, well, it's loose. Your average thermal cup can't filter out the leaves. And no one wants to cart around a tea ball and mug. Libre Tea has created the perfect solution.

Libre Tea Infuser Glass

Their 14 oz. glasses have a BPA-free poly exterior that not only insulates but protects the glass interior. The glass ensures there are no chemicals leaching into your beverage, as well as no weird tastes. These two layers are perfectly sealed so there is no leaking our cloudy condensation developing. There are two screw on tops. One has a built-in stainless steel filter and the other is a sealable lid. If you don't need the filter, no worries! The lid can be placed directly onto the glass. They way they're built also makes them super easy to clean! They do recommend hand cleaning only to best care for your Libre Tea Infuser Glass.

How to Use

If you are using the Libre Tea Infuser Glass for loose leaf tea, you can steep it two different ways. The first way (pictured above) is best for black and green teas. You start by placing the tea leaves on top of the filter and sealing the lid, then inverting the glass with hot water. Now there is a silicon O-ring in the lid that does seal it. The last thing you want it super hot water leaking out! Libre Tea even gives you an extra O-ring! The instructions do caution you, however, as when you open the lid there will be hot steam, so proceed carefully! The great part about being able to brew the tea this way is that you don't have to leave the leaves in the water and over-steep the tea, leading to a bitter taste. Once steeped for the proper time, simply remove the filter lid and you're ready to go! If you want to steep the leaves once more, just leave the leaves in the filter and replace it back on the cup and refill with hot water.

For mild teas, like white teas, the leaves can be left in the water indefinitely. To steep these, you can place the leaves right into the cup and pour hot water over them. You would then drink your tea through the filter lid to strain out any leaves. The outside of the glass does get warm, depending on the temperature of your water, but it is never hot.  You can also make matcha tea with these as well! Sift the powdered tea through the filter then add whatever liquid you are drinking it with!

Function and Beauty

Can we take a minute and truly admire how gorgeous these Libre Tea Infuser glasses are?  There are 6 different colors and styles of the 14 oz. glasses. Each is unique and have simple nature-themed designs. The classic glass is silver and has no designs on the glass for a clean classic look. They also have a couple of smaller 9 oz. glasses.

These glasses fit easily into cupholders and are comfortable to hold. I feel confident taking these out and about with me, unlike my other solid glass cups. My kids can drink out of them and drop them and I don't have to worry about them breaking. Libre means "free" in Spanish, and I really do feel free to finally drink my loose leaf teas anywhere I need to go. However, they will, of course, hold any beverage you wish! The double walled design kept my smoothie cold in the mornings and the lid sealed it in when my 1-year-old wanted to hold it. Toss some fruit in the glass, fill with water, cap with the filter and lid and you have your very own fresh fruit infused water!

In Conclusion

I could not be more in love with these glasses. Is it possible to be in love with a glass? I don't care because these are perfect. I actually feel I can get rid of most of my other travel cups. Because now "Soy Libre" or "I'm free" to drink my favorite infusions wherever and whenever. The Libre Tea Infuser Glass is going to get a LOT of use!

  2. I love that they are BPA free! That's the first thing I always check when I buy. The fact that they filter the tea is awesome!

  3. Wow, the company really made these with the mindset of covering all types of tea drinkers. Hot, cold (extra o-ring is awesome) and loose, bag (I am a loose tea drinker).

  4. I love that these have a protective covering, protecting the glass. I only want to drink from glass containers, so this keeps it safe. Plus the screen is so fine, that it keeps tea leaves from falling in my drink 🙂

  7. I've enjoyed infused tea at some chain stores, but it can become expensive if I do this all the time. With this product, I don't have to buy all the time. Thank you for sharing!
