Workout at your desk with a Seated Elliptical Machine

Say what? Yes it’s true, desk jockeys like myself can now keep moving or at least our legs and feet can keep moving while we’re working away at our desks, couches and more. All thanks to a seated elliptical machine, this might be my new favourite way to workout, especially in the cold and rainy fall and winter months!

We loved the Cubii Jr. so much that it made it onto our Holiday Gift Guide! Make sure to check it out and all our other great gift ideas that can be used for gift giving all year long. seated elliptical machines

What is a seated elliptical?

It’s exactly what it sounds like, an elliptical machine that you use while you are sitting. This can be great for people who have trouble standing while exercising. Elliptical machines simulate the act of running, biking and climbing. I love it because I have feet and knee issues so standing even while using a standard elliptical machine is challenging as my legs get sore when standing even if they’re moving. seated elliptical

seated ellipticalI’ve been keeping my Cubbi Jr. seated elliptical under my home office desk since I’m there a lot working. It’s hleps to make sure to my knees don’t get stiff from sitting at my desk too long. I can feel better that I’m doing some exercise at least even while I’m working. seated ellipticalThe LCD display will show how much distance I’ve done, time, calories and more, love it and I love that now my arthritic knees don’t get stiff from sitting at my desk because they’re at least “moving”. seated elliptical

  1. I love this! I work a desk job at NCSU doing tech support so I could sit all day. I really need the workout to control my A1C – sugar level. I love that it is compact and is hidden away.

  4. I like this product because it’s described as whisper-quiet, and sounds like a good way to keep active without hurting my knees, and I could read or use the computer at the same time!

  5. What a wonderful idea! I have to admit that I spend way too much time seated at my desk in front of a computer, and can feel my legs getting lethargic as a result.

  9. Love the compact flexibility of this elliptical machine. I have huge veins & poor circulation in my legs from sitting to long for decades. Definitely would love to try this machine to lower my blood pressure, plus increase circulation.

  11. I’d love any of the Cubi ellipticals but out of all 3 I’d pick the Cubi Elite in white. Having a Bluetooth enabled fitness tracking to an app would be awesome to track your workouts! I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome so I could definitely use a seated eliptical when I can’t go to the gym or out for a walk due to fatigue or pain! It’s such a great option for people with mobility problems and chronic illnesses. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  12. I really liked that you mention using this under your desk so your knees don’t get stiff. It is definitely a downside to sitting for extended periods of time, so this would certainly help with that! It is also much more compact than I would have expected. Its a great size!

    Good luck everyone!

  16. I used to have an elliptical, but I had to get rid of it because I just didn’t have the room for it in my small apartment with 4 kids. This would be amazing as it saves a lot more space! It would get daily use!

  20. The seated ellipticals are so neat! I had never heard of them before or seen them before today. I love that they are quiet with lots of clearance for the knees and they can fit into any space. This seems like a great alternative to the standing desk. I have a fainting disorder so I can’t use one of those. This would be perfect for me.

She has been with me since her husband passed in February and has been suffering from depression. I am an advocate of exercise to alleviate depression. 🙂

  27. I don’t have a lot of space for full-size exercise equipment but I do need more exercise. This would get me moving more and not take up space. I wish I had the money to buy one myself but sadly, no. I like the Qubii Pro best.

  29. The Cubbi is such a great idea and could be used in many situations. It would be a great way for the elderly to get exercise which is so important but they feel unsure of themselves when walking and are afraid of falling. In a work environment I believe it would help your employees feel better and plus better performance out of them while sitting at their desks.

  41. These have so many useful purposes. My dad had spine surgery so not only would it be great for him to keep his legs moving, he has since the surgery had problems with his left leg bending when he gets up to walk from it stiffening so fast. I was just saying this is what we should get him sop he could stretch out his legs better when sitting so he can bend at the knee when he walks.
