Tips for choosing versatile and comfortable boots for tween and teen girls

Comfortable boots that are well made and versatile are a treasure for anyone's closet.

If you're a parent of tween or teen girl (or boy for that matter) you know how hard they can be on shoes and how some can be quite picky too. While they may always want the latest trend we want them to have shoes and boots that they aren't going to destroy in months, comfortable for their feet and versatile enough to wear with more than one outfit. We're sharing some tips to help you select comfortable boots for them that you will both appreciate.

Above you can see that my daughter is wearing ankle boots in a rustic brown color. This gives these comfortable boots a two-tone look, a medium brown with some shades of dark brown and black. When you live in the Pacific Northwest which means a lot of rain (hence why my daughter had to use an umbrella during this photo session) you have to worry about slippery surfaces. She can wear these to school, hiking or out and about with her friends. A win for me because then she's not asking for a ton of different styled boots or shoes. Leather lined boots also make them even more comfortable and versatile while providing protection for your teens feet inside and out. While tweens and teens might not always think about comfort first they can appreciate it when the boots don't hurt their feet. In addition to a good tread on the shoe you want the leather to be supple so that it provides flexibility when they're walking. You don't want the boots to be so stiff that it doesn't bend with their feet.Now don't get me wrong I do love black boots but it's a darker color and can actually stand out more when wearing light colored clothing. You don't always want your shoes to be the focal point so that's why I like some of the softer colors for boots for kids. Versatile and comfortable boots are a winner for us like this rustic brown, a soft cherry color and greys can also work out well.
