Now thanks to their HueScanner your healthy grocery shopping and/or creating a healthier grocery shopping list can be a lot easier without having to read each and every single nutrition label.
How can you make healthy grocery shopping easier?

Use their HueApproved Scanner app! It’s a web-based app (no need to download the app) that will work with any device because it’s web-based. Simply scan the code of the product and it will give you a rating of the product from 1-7. The higher the number the healthier the choice the product is. For example, if you’re having a hard time deciding between two popular yogurt brands with the same flavor, just scan the barcode for each one and see which one will be the healthier choice for you.

The app does not show a nutritional label but rather it takes the information from the USDA Food Database, analyzes it and returns the HueApproved Score. This score is based on several factors including the nutritional facts on the box, number of ingredients in the product (the app will display the number of ingredients), it also takes into consideration the macronutrients such as proteins, saturated fat, sugars etc.. The display on the app keeps it simple but all of these factors are taking into consideration with the HueApproved Scanner.

Keep in mind that a lower rating like a 3 does not necessarily mean that they are recommending you never eat that product. A rating of 7 is for whole, fresh foods, 100% clean eating so a packaged product would not get a 7. However, the HueApproved Scanner will help you to ascertain which of those granola bar brands, for example, might be the healthier choice for you. It will show if an item is high in sugar, high in fats etc.. via an easy to read table to help you quickly determine if that product is right for you.

You can also enter the product name into the input field to find a match. It’s a tool to help my your healthy grocery shopping easier so you can make the choice of what products are a better choice for you.

  4. Now to summarize that long comment and I’m sure my excitement will not be as evident. I have taken I can’t tell you how long standing in front of the yogurt reading each label to see how much each had as far as calories, sugar, protein, etc… This app/tool will save me so much time and tell me much more than me reading each label. There are a number of products I do that exact thing on so I am excited to have this tool available.
