Greek Island of Kefalonia-Island of Dreams

Recently I posed the question on Powered by Mom’s Facebook “What country or place do you dream of going to?”. One of the most popular answers by far was Greece. Well do I have something to share with you. I’ve recently learned about the Greek Island of Kefalonia and from the pictures I’ve seen it is absolutely gorgeous. In fact some have dubbed the Kefalonia Islands as the Island of Dreams. Well it certainly is dreamy looking take a look at the picture below.

I’ve heard that there are many spectacular and breathtaking views all over Greece but I’m particularly attracted to oceanfront scenery. 

According to the travel website Kefalonia.co.uk  “the Kefalonia island’s scenery is so different to that of the other Greek islands, even though Corfu and Zante are so close neither manages to afford the same lush ambience of the beautiful Kefalonia. Lush green fir-capped mountains reach high up into the clear sunny sky, picturesque headlands, watery inlets, golden bays and fantastic beaches spread around the island.”

From what I can see I would have to agree it’s absolutely stunning! I can’t help but want to continue to browse through all the pictures I can find. Here’s another one that I just couldn’t resist. This is of one of the popular beaches on Kefalonia Skala beach. Now wouldn’t you like be here?

I would have to say that the Greek Islands is still definitely one of the destinations I would like to make it to one of these days. Sooner rather than later would be nice as these pictures of Kefalonia Island certainly confirm all the rumors that Greece has some of the most stunning scenery in the world.
