Bring Family Game Night Back With Ravensburger Boardgames

Do you like to play games with your family?  I do, because I like to build great memories with quality time.  We play all kinds of games, but we love to try new ones and find new favorites.  Ravensburger has several great family oriented games, and some games that are perfect for teens and adults as well.

Ravensburger Boardgames are on our Holiday Gift Guide!  Check it out here.

Pictopia Harry Potter Edition

This game was a huge hit with my 16 year old.  He loves Harry Potter movies and is very knowledgeable of stuff from the movies.  Therefore he had this game won from the start.  It was a fun game for us all to play, and once we brush up on our movie trivia we will be ready to take him on again.  The board was pretty, and game play was easy and fast.  Plus there is cool picture trivia cards with 1000 trivia questions.

Krazy Wordz

This word game was creative and fun.  Each player gets 9 letters, and a card that says some thing like movie title, or dragon's name.  Then they make up a word using their letters.  Other players then have to try and decide which made up word goes with which card.  It is funny to hear the words said out at the end and to laugh at the crazy concoctions the players make up.  This is a great party game, or just a family fun night.

The Quest For El Dorado

This game is a deck building game and is for ages ten and up.  Each player begins with the same combination of cards and has to build up their deck to help them move across the board on the expedition.  This adventure through jungles in South America to find El Dorado the city of gold takes about 60 minutes to play.

Eye Found It

This game has a huge 6 foot long game board, where you search for hidden objects.  There are over 1000 things to find as you race along through the world of Despicable Me.  Since it is Minion themed it is perfect for all those Minion fans out there.  Those yellow guys are just too cute!

Banned Words

This game was really fun to play with a couple or our friends.  It would be fun with older kids too, but we got the chance to play with adults.  My husband was on the other team as we did men against women.  Sadly the guys won,  but we all had fun playing.  There is a card with five words on it, that you must get your team to guess.  The other team gets the card first and writes 16 words they think you might say to get your team to guess the correct terms.  As you call out words you get a point for each of the five words your team gets, but the other team gets a point for every banned word you say.  It was a challenge to pick the banned words to try and foil the other team. This takes guessing words to a whole new level, because you can earn a bunch of points just by picking the write words to ban.

Whichever Ravensburger boardgames you choose, your family will love the time they spend with you while you play.  I still remember games I played as a child with my family, and am so glad they took the time with me then.  Now I try to do the same with my kids, and with great games it is much easier.

Which game is your favorite?

  1. Any of these games would be awesome for our family. We love playing new games and take them to parties ourselves to have fun. The Eye Found It: Despicable Me Edition looks like alot of fun for my Grandkids. They love the Minons so it would be cute to see them find all the items.
