Did you know that Dawn has more uses Beyond the Sink? $300 IKEA GC Giveaway ends 11/19 US Only  #DawnBeyondtheSink

We’re also going to share a twitter party and Pinterest promotion that has some fabulous prizes including a Clothes Steamer and $300 IKEA gift card for a laundry room makeover a prize value of $600!

I have to admit I didn’t realize that Dawn had more uses besides helping me to get those dirty dishes in the sink clean. I like Dawn because it really does cut down on greasing while I’m washing dishes, it doesn’t pour out like water and it’s easy on my sensitive hands. I wash a lot of dishes by hand so it’s important to me that the dish soap doesn’t dry out my hands or irritate them. I also appreciate that they are giving back and doing what they can to save wildlife, way to go Dawn!I had the opportunity to test out one of the other uses of Dawn beyond the sink and that was for pre-treating stains before washing them. You can see other helpful tips on how to use Dawn HERE.

Our test was with a white t-shirt with a blueberry stain, never fun to get out right? Here’s what we did:

Step 1 see ugly blueberry stain:

Cover the stain with a maximum of 2 tsps. of Dawn when using a top-loading washing machine which I was, don’t use too much and always test with a small drop in a less visible area of the t-shirt. Do not use on delicate fabrics like silk.

Once the entire stained area is covered rub it in using your fingers and then wash normally with Tide in your washing machine**

  1. I would say the worse stain I have encountered is paint on clothes. I’m not talking about washable children’s paint, but the paint my husband uses on his figures. This is rather difficult to get out of clothing.

  2. I got a stain on my favorite work pants when finishing up putting gas in my car. Some drips from the gas hose got on them. It made a huge circle stain on the front legs.

  3. The worst is grease stains and spaghetti sauce. When I cook foods on the stove top sometimes I forget to put on an old shirt or an apron. The stains are so hard to get out but Dawn is a miracle!

  4. Grass stains are always the worst for me. We love going on picnics and listening to outdoor concerts. So many times, I’ve gotten a small grass stain and can’t get it out.

  5. I didn’t realize that my daughter had left 2 dark blue crayons in her pants when I had washed and dried a load of whites one day, uggghhh….what a mess!

  6. I have had to deal with a lot of stains over the years, but I still say that the grass stains on my sons football pants were the worst to deal with.

  7. My dad works at a chemical plant and he works around inks and those are the worst aside from the normal grass stains, throw up stains, pet stains and coffee and tea stains.

  8. This might sound worse than it actually is, but I’d have to say that Blood is my worst laundry stain…my husband always seems to get blood on his WHITE shirts =o…I have Dawn & love it…I will have to give it a try =)

  9. Some of the worse stains for me to get rid of has been blood and grass. It would take pre soaks and machines washes a few times.

  10. Red clay and red kook aid I know this from my kids they love to play with clay and drink kook aid but the mess is so bad I just have fun with them even that I have to find a way to remove it.

  11. Those nasty grease stains. My boyfriend comes home from work with huge grease stains on his pants and they are so touch to get out!

  12. Grass stains and other assorted outdoor yuck are a big problem around here. Oh, tomato too – hubby is notorious for tomato stains on his clothes.

  13. My worst stain was when my daughters poop got all over her onsie, it was like a greenish color and wouldn’t come out no matter what I did.

  14. My husband is a chef and his white shirts are destroyed! Sauce splatters everywhere. He’s notorious for getting coffee stains on his shirts as well when relaxing in the morning. Coffee and sauce stains are awful.

  15. White football pants are the worse to get clean. The football field is in an area where there is coal and coal dirt is hard to get out.

  16. We’ve had some red clay stains that have proven impossible to get out.
Having mechanics in the family, there are always grease smears and fingerprints.

    And yes, drool can stain.

  17. My worst laundry stains would be from my kids and food! Usually it’s spaghetti or chocolate ice cream that really gets in there!

  18. My worst laundry stains are from when I fry foods and grease splatters my shirts and it leaves grease spots all over my shirts that won’t come out.

  19. Well I have a few, coffee on my car seat covers – no clue how and the worst stain was when my husband hit his head against something and blood was pouring out and got all over his new shirt – i ended up throwing the shirt out
