Best Weighted Blanket Hug with CuddleCloud
A different kind of blanket, and a great one!
I’ve tried weighted blankets. And they are wonderful! They are soft and the weight makes you feel like you’re getting a nice warm hug. The CuddleCloud is no different but so different at the same time! This unique take on a weighted blanket has me comforted and cozy each night and I’ll explain exactly why.
A 20lb Hug
This blanket only comes in one weight, twenty pounds. For me, this is perfect. The heavier the blanket the better for my body. But everyone is slightly different! So keep that in mind. It’s probably too heavy for kids, but as an adult it provides just enough weight that I feel the comforting pressure without feeling smothered. General recommendations say a weighted blanket should weigh anywhere between 5% and 10% of your body weight. But I have personally found this to usually be too light for what I like to feel. So this 20-pounds is perfect for me.
Perfect Distribution
What I absolutely love about this weighted blanket is how it is made. Because it is hand-knitted with heavy “cord” the weight is perfectly distributed. There are no beads or sand or any other material in it that I constantly have to readjust. The weight is constant and even no matter how I shift or move. I also noticed that once I spread it out, it didn’t fall or get all bunched up falling off of me. Even in the morning, it was still very spread out covering me.

Heavy “Cord” Does Not Equal Rough
This blanket is hand-knitted with a thick cotton “cord” that is maybe 1-1.5 inches in diameter. I have felt some really rough wool, cord, and other materials that people use to knit. NOTHING like this. I cannot believe this is cotton. The outside is almost like a micro-modal, silky-smooth, and cool athletic fabric. It stretches and is so so soft. I know why they say this is the CuddleCloud, because while the material feels soft and weightless in and of itself, the overall weight is perfect. It reminds me of a non-fuzzy squish mellow plushie!

Cool heat?
I’m not sure if it meant to be “cooling” but the fabric itself always seems cool to the touch. It feels soft, stretch, and breathable. But I can say that I wake up warmer than ever with this over me. And this is in the middle of a blizzard. My house is not freezing, but it is definitely cooler than normal and I woke up almost too warm. This is indirect contrast to using any of my other blankets, just for comparison.
A New Favorite
No lie, this is my newest favorite blanket. And I kind of love that it is heavy enough my kids are not super inclined to swipe it off of my bed! It is surprisingly cozy. When I first saw photos of it it seemed stiff and like it wouldn’t cover well given the knitted weave. But I was SO wrong. It is like cuddling a cloud, making the CuddleCloud blanket aptly named. Even my cat likes it! While it not be for everyone, it is certainly perfect for those that love a cozy cloud-like 2-pound weighted blanket.
