Let's Help Rex Find a Home! Dog Adoption of the Day #AdoptDon'tShop

Rex! Rex! We must help Rex! Yes, this 7 year young, sweet senior boy is still looking for his home.

Meet Rex

rex

If you’re not going to have a pet be indoors with you the majority of the time, give it lots of love, prepared to pay vet bills in an emergency and make a life time commitment then a pet is not for you. This is something we are passionate about and really want to get the message across to adopt not shop and that it’s a lifetime commitment of love!

Information from Rex's Adoption Post

After his first post on SSD last week, he had a few interested adopters. But unfortunately, none of them worked out for various reasons unrelated to Rex himself. We are told that now Rex is super urgent and needs to find a qualified adopter ASAP.

Rex can be transported out of the Miami Dade area. (*Edit: See photo in comments of Rex's big day out with a shelter staff member. He's too cute! And wants to be spoiled forever. ♥)

Rex is a very friendly guy and he is looking for a loving family to call him "ours." He gets along with children and other dogs, too! Rex is looking forward to lounging on your couch, riding in your car, and taking long walks together...you know, all the "normal things" that other pets get to do!

A volunteer wrote, "CODE RED! NO time left for Rex! This 7 year old terrier mix is absolutely amazing. Older dogs make AMAZING pets and bond with you just as easy as younger dogs! He is a gentle, super sweet soul who just wants to give and receive love.

Rex is super friendly with other dogs, kids and people, he would make an amazing family dog.

Rex has come down with a URI (simple doggy cold) and needs someone to save him ASAP at MDAS. His health is otherwise fine. Right now he is an area where NO ONE can see him so we are his only help!!"

GO HERE to share his story and hopefully help him find a home or better yet please contact the Miami Dade Animal Service  for more information on adopting Rex.

  1. My friends think Im weird because whenever we adopt a new pet we go for a rescue and say I'll have the one no one wants. I cant stand to think an animal cant find a home because they look fugly Some of the most beloved animals have looked odd and I dont care

  2. I really like how you introduce dogs on your Blog. Im sure it give good exposure to them. All of my dogs are rescue dogs and I couldnt imagine my life without them. I sure hope Rex gets a home soon.

  3. I wonder how many animals are adopted because of this blog posting. Do you get any feedback? You're really trying to help and it'd be nice to know that an animal found a home because they read about it here.

  4. Rex is super cute and hope he gets a forever home soon. I love any kind of terrier mix but unfortunately I'm in California. Some day I'll get another dog (had a Yorkie terrier). I kept all my dog things so I'm hopeful I'll rescue one sooner rather than later.
